Coaches Corner

Welcome the Pueblo Youth Hockey Assocation! We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all of you for your dedication and time. Your commitment is invaluable in shaping our players' skill and fostering a positive team environment. Together, we're set for an incredible season of growth, learning and FUN!

Below listed are the requirements for becoming to be a USAH/CAHA coach:

1. USAH registration for the current season. Must be done prior to being placed on a roster. Link to register with USAH.

2. USAH registration for background screening. Required every two seasons. Must be done prior to any contact with players and prior to being placed on a roster. Link to register for background screen. 

Not sure if your screen is still valid? Once you start the registration process, prior to the payment screen, you will see a notice if your screening is still valid. Your association registrar can also check on your screening status. Screens can take a good two weeks or more to come back and a coach CANNOT be placed on a roster until the screen is showing as complete.

3. Safe Sport. Valid SafeSport is required in order to be placed on a roster. Safe Sport Training link. The course cannot be accessed more than 30 days prior to the expiration date of the prior course.

4. Age level module(s). One time requirement per module.The module corresponding to the roster/age group of the team(s) you are coaching must be complete prior to being placed on the roster. Register for age specific modules here.

5. CEP (Coaching Education Program). Coaches have until 12/31 to complete/update CEP. If CEP is not current by 12/31, the coach will be removed from the roster and unable to coach for the remainder of the season.  Find clinics here.
